Fournier - Nº 32
This 50-card Spanish-suited deck, originally printed via chromolithography, has been in continuous production by Heraclio Fournier since at least 1936.
Following the Catalan pattern, the cards feature highly detailed artwork without compromising the high legibility expected of this style. It closely resembles Grimaud’s Catalan deck and is virtually identical to Juan Roura's No. 32—with which it shares both its name and a concurrent 1930s release. Yet, Fournier boasts the most refined and harmonious designs of the three. Furthermore, these illustrations have remained virtually unchanged for nearly a century.
The current version of this deck is produced with offset printing, which faithfully emulates the original chromolithography to achieve a 'vintage' aesthetic, despite the saturated color rendition accomplished by the use of modern printing technicques. This sets it apart from competitors—and even other decks within Fournier's own catalog—where less precise printing transitions results in a partial loss of the original charm.
Card quality is excellent, featuring a satin finish that ranks among the finest within Fournier’s lineup.
An exquisite deck, that easily rivals or even surpasses the iconic Fournier No. 1.
